Your life is what you create it to be
The universe gives you what you think you deserve - you might wish for certain things to happen but the quality of your life is determined by the way you think about yourself.
It is, of course, easier to write about it than actually live by these words - changing the thoughts I had for myself was did not come easy to me. Yes, I had thoughts like I was worthy of certain things but when I really thought about whether I considered myself deserving to be called valued or worthy of love, al I felt was frustration, bitterness and helpless. I thought the things I was wishing for were meant for someone else and could never happen to me.
It was only when they did happen and my wishes came true that I started seeing myself as someone deserving of those things. But owning or achieving certain things did not really make me happy. There was a certain confidence about me and I took these things for granted: it felt to me as if I had always possessed these things and I did not really think about whether I deserved them or not. I felt calm and at peace with myself, I wasn’t doubting myself anymore. And then I remembered how much I had worked for where I was at that moment: I spent countless hours improving myself, reading all those motivational books, meditating and practising.
There is no special method that works for everyone and a lot of people might find they don’t need to work on improving themselves as much as I did. But the main point is as you practice being kinder to yourself and believing in yourself, it all comes naturally after a while. And believe me, your thoughts do matter and so do your words.
Just think about it this way… A friend of mine kept saying that all men are jerks. “Well, that’s not my experience… I’ve only been with nice guys”, said another friend. Also, why would you be hoping to meet the man of your dreams if you really think that? If all men are morons, Prince Charming will never come. He doesn’t even exist then… Stop thinking of man like that and you’ll find what you’re looking for.
