You are exactly where you’re supposed to be
In the world of social media, it is increasingly more difficult not to compare ourselves to others, but comparing yourself to others will leave you feeling like you’re not where you would like to be or like you’re missing out on something. Everyone else seems to be living a happier and fuller life… But the truth is we all feel this way every now and again.
You’re just an outsider
You must remember that the only things you know about others are the things they decided to share: what you see is an edited version of their lives. People tend to share the good stuff but real life is not like that...
What you don’t see is that everyone else is battling sadness and depression, their insecurities or self-doubt and everyone is struggling just like you are.
It is very tempting to look at other people’s feeds and think that what you see is their reality - but it’s not. Feeling isolated, lonely or left behind is something we all feel. The irony of it all is that we tend to think we’re the only ones feeling that way. But you are not alone and you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.
We all have a unique path in life and we can’t make things happen if they’re not meant to be. Often times it’s just that we have to learn to surrender and let things happen.
Most things in life do not happen as we would want them to, things happen they way they are supposed to happen. You can be the biggest control freak on this Earth and plan every second of your life, certain things cannot be forced.
You shouldn’t let anyone or anything dictate where you’re supposed to be by a certain age. Life is not a list of things you’re supposed to by thirty… It doesn’t work like that. There are lessons you have to learn, people you have to meet and there are certain things you have to go through and you cannot rush any of it. Your life is part of a greater plan. No matter how insignificant it may seem at first, every situation is an opportunity to learn and to grow.
Life is not an exact science, it is an art. Perfection is just an illusion. You’re life is not supposed to look like somebody else’s and you have to run your own race, not someone else’s. Do not compare yourself to others. It’s your journey, not theirs. No one else can fulfil your destiny.
What matters the most in life are the experiences you’ve had and how they’ve transformed you.
Happiness is not some kind of a reward you get in life, it’s something you choose. We must learn to enjoy life without any plans or deadlines, and we must learn to let things go and make the most of what we have - that’s how you live life to the fullest.
