Start over
You don’t need a new year, a new day or a new hour to start over – you have the opportunity start living the life you want every minute of every day. Here’s hoe to do it
Take some time, look back on your life and decide who you want to be in the future. Many people sit around daydreaming about their life in 5 years but aren’t brave enough to do something about it. You might feel like you’re too old to start something new or you don’t have enough time or resources. The truth is that these things cannot stop you, it’s you and your own excuses keeping you from becoming the person you want to be. If you’re willing to work for it, you can become that person. You can break your bad habits. You can change your appearance. You can change your reactions. You can be whoever you want to be. There are no limits.
Make sure you know who you want to be
You won’t be able to change unless you know who you want to become so you’d better figure it out soon.
In life, nothing stays the same. Why would you? Get ready to grow, that’s why you’re here. Learn to step out of your comfort zone. Just make sure you know your strengths and identify the things that bring you joy. Make a list of both and see where they overlap, then make a list of your goals and try to come up with a plan. Write down what you could do to achieve your goals and make a list of things you need to learn.
Congratulations! You’ve just started your journey. Once you know who you want to be, it’ll all get easier.
Change your style
Do you feel like you’re not the person you used to be? So why would you dress like someone you’re not? Your personal style is a form of self-expression so if you feel like your clothes are not helping you become the person you want to be, change them. Start dressing for the person you’ll become. You don’t need to be obsessed with the latest trends but there’s nothing wrong with trying new things – you might feel much more confident. Just make sure to choose items that you enjoy wearing and that are fitting to your personality.
Renew your mind
We all have thoughts that are not even our own: things that somebody made us believe or we maybe were raised that way. The things we believe about ourselves can hold us back and we don’t want that. You are able to do anything you set your mind to. And you can renew your mind. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you are capable of breaking old habits and learning to think differently. You have the power to renew your mind so think big and don’t let your own doubts hold you back. Never say “But that’s who I am”. No you’re not. Only people of little faith would say that. You can change. Most people fail because they cannot believe that they could be more than just simple creatures of habit. As Albert Einstein once said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. He also said “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking”.
Get a new job
We spend at least 8-12 hours a day at our workplaces. If your job is something that does not challenge you anymore or does not bring you joy, you’re basically spending half your day with something you don’t like. And that, my friend, will make you feel miserable. So why are you afraid to change something you don’t like? Excuses will not build your life. People who dream big and are not afraid to change will make it in life. As you make a decision to try, things will work out – believe me, they always do. Many people feel trapped in their job, especially if they’ve been in the same place for years, but then it’s time to do something about it. Yes, it means stepping into the unknown but try to see it as a clean slate, a new opportunity for you to make something of it. Just go for it and you’ll find yourself loving your job.
Friends
Did you know that our peers and friends might have a much greater influence in us than our family? Our family plants the seeds but our classmates, friends, coworkers and society all shape us greatly. Your squad does matter. Never stop appreciating people who have been there for you all those years but be mindful of choosing your inner circle. You don’t need to be spending time with those who use you, bring you down or set a bad example. Studies have shown that choosing the right friends helps us be better people. For example, if you’re struggling with self-control, a disciplined friend can teach you a lot. Be open to new people but try to spend time with those who are a good influence on you.
Learn something new
Learning something you’ve always wanted to is one of the best ways of renewing your mind. Sign up for a course, learn to play an instrument learn a language or take up a new hobby – it’s not going to be like being in high school, believe me. You can learn whatever you want to and these new experiences will refresh your spirit. Every new thing is a new opportunity to explore and grow and these experiences will surely make you more confident. You might learn something that will change your life for every opportunity is a new open door.
Improve your heath
Taking up exercise and going on a diet are the most popular new year resolutions but people rarely stick with their new routines. This should be your number one priority all year long for fueling your body will help you feel energized, happy and grounded. Take care about your body, mind and soul for you can’t be the best version of yourself if you neglect any of them. Taking a 30-minute walk can hugely improve your health and if you start nourishing your body with the right foods, you’ll feel like a new person. You’ll feel energized, focused and less moody. Try to eat less processed food and go for more healthy options. Exercise can soon become a passion if you find the right one for you and you’ll look and feel stronger and fitter. Such a change will surely lift your spirits and make you more confident. So what are you waiting for?
